Rain Room Exhibition
Here and There: Dialogue between Hong Kong and Japan
As research material, I visited the Rain Room to see and understand how sensors are used in design and how people interact with them. The Rain Room was made using sensors that detects human actions, as you walk under the pouring down rain, the water recognises your body movements and stop raining on you. To make the viewer feel more anxious of getting wet, extra rain sounds were inserted, before they walk through the rain. There is interaction when people start to walk, run and move around the room constantly in attempt to feel the rain and get wet from it, as this is against their logic This is a great example of interaction.
