Before designing my own website on a computer, I looked at the site maps of existing websites online and analysed how they were used to help the user navigate across a website more easily.

A simple flowchart was used to map out all the different tabs and webpages on the website. It helps to organise the structure and contents of a website.

My Site Map

The first thing I did was to identify the different sections and web pages that I would have on my website. I knew that my starting point on the flowchart would be my homepage for the website, where all the other web pages would connect to and from it.

After doing this, I was able to make my own site map for my website on paper.
